Two new minerals of the celadonite family are defined: ferroceladonite. K2Fe2) Fe32 Si8O20(OH)4, and ferroaluminoceladonite. K2Fe2+2Al2Si8O20(OH)4. The former occurs largely as submicrometer (≤ 200-300 nm thick) grains in vesicle rims, and the latter admixed with chlorite and mixed-layered minerals in vesicle interiors and replacing glass shards.

The calculated densities are 3.045 (3) and 2.928 (2) g/cm 3 for ferroceladonite and ferroaluminoceladonite, respectively. Celadonite mineral-aluminous clay mineral and celadonite mineral-Ca-rich zeolite assemblages of the zeolite facies are related to illite-chlorite ± pumpellyite assemblages of higher grade by dehydration reactions, not ...
Ferroaluminoceladonite – K 2 Fe 2 Al 2 Si 8 O 20 (OH) 4 In the 1990s, crystals from the Hokonui hills, east of Gore, were analysed by electron microprobe, a new technique for microscopic analysis.
Phlogopite is a yellow, greenish, or reddish-brown member of the mica family of phyllosilicates. It is also known as magnesium mica.. Phlogopite is the magnesium endmember of the biotite solid solution series, with the chemical formula KMg 3 AlSi 3 O 10 (F,OH) 2.Iron substitutes for magnesium in variable amounts leading to the more common biotite with higher iron content.
Dickite sometimes contains impurities such as titanium, iron, magnesium, calcium, sodium and potassium. Dickite occurs with other clays and requires x-ray diffraction for its positive identification. Dickite is an important alteration indicator [clarification needed] in hydrothermal systems as well as occurring in soils and shales.
